The article outlined the fact that several major brands were running advertising on websites that weren’t exactly in line with the moral standards of those brands. As major companies, don’t they want to know where exactly their ads will show up?
Why would people take the risk of purchasing ad space on non-disclosed environments. You can add all the data layers you want but ultimately, isn’t it sensible to understand exactly where your ads will be running before they run? Well, if we have a look at Adwords for example, your ads can appear on websites based on the targeting methods you choose, like keywords, placements, audiences, and topics. Hmmm, perhaps those companies do want their ads to come up on online slots sites or other unrelated sites.
